Do not put baby oil on your tattoo. You may be putting to much ointment on it, sometimes keeping it to moist will cause that to happen. Remember your tattoo also needs air. Air is what helps the tattoo heal. You should have been putting very light layers of triple antibiotic ointment on it several times a day, for the first few days, making sure to dab the tattoo off if it looks like its bubbling up. Shower water is fine and won't hurt the tattoo but don't take a bath for a couple weeks, you don't want to let your tattoo soak in bath water. Also if it is sticking to clothing, don't just rip the clothes away from it, soak it with some water till the clothing comes loose from the tattoo. If you just pull the clothes off the tattoo, it will cause more bleeding and pull off scabs which will cause your tattoo to lose color.

Echoing "Do not put Baby Oil on a Tattoo" Use Bacitracin, you should lightly wash warm soapy water every four hours and reapply Bacitracin. Do not apply pressure and do not rub. Do not let the shower hit it directly A properly cared for tattoo WILL NOT scab up. Your tattoo artist should of passed along these basic rules of tattoo care.

I agree do not put baby oil on your tattoo, you may be putting to much cream or lotion on it, sometimes keeping it to moist will cause this to happen. For a lower back piece try using 1/4 of a pea size of A&D cream and work it into the tattoo from the center out.

its normal, but remember that red ink and white ink are known to be rejected by some skin. keep it moisturized with A&D ointment. its in the baby diaper care isle, but it realy helps to comfort and heal a new tattoo. also dont let the shower hit it dead on. if it heals a little spotty, your tattoo artist should touch it up free for life. take care of it, dont over moisturize, pick, itch, or touch it unless your changing the dressing or putting the a&d on.

That is just sometimes part of the healing process. Wash it with a fragrence free soap like dial with warm water and use a fragrence free lotion . dont listen to the first two posters DO NOT use baby oil it is greasy and thick and clogs up the pores of the skin which you do not want to do when the tattoo is healing

do not put baby oil on your tattoo. you shouldn't put any oil based or fragranced products on your tattoo until it is healed.
it is normal for some ink to come out of your skin. just be sure to put fragrance free lotion on your tattoo on a regular basis i have a large tattoo on my back as well, and for the first few days my tattoo stuck to my shirt as well. good luck!

I always put fragrance free lotion on my tattoo. I prefer Lubriderm.

Don't worry, mine looked really weird and gross after I got it and now it looks beautiful :)
