Need advice with coloring hair?

For anyone on last night to help me work through my delimea about my hair - I have made up my mind to go way short. Hey, growing up has forced me into loosing the piercings and I have never wanted a tatoo sober, so doing something outrageous with my hair --- SAYS IT ALL. Right?

Anyways, I failed to mention that at the moment my hair has hot pink highlights with all the other drama, so in order to get a professional job - I must go back naturally medium brown. BUT, again, I want to pust the envolope - so, after dying it brown how soon can I add some blonde highlights?

Why do we compliment the person getting the haircut instead of complimenting the cosmetologist?

When a person gets a great haircut, why don't we give credit to the person cutting the hair? After all, we just picked out the hairstyle and cosmetologist, but it's takes a talented cosmetologist to make it look good.

Hair extensions?

I have thick, curly hair. I am thinking about getting extensions, because my hair takes forever to grow. My q's are:

How much do they cost?
Can I die them when I die my hair(natural color brown, but always dyed blonde)?
Will they eventually grow out if I get my hair trimmed?

my hair needs help!?

my hair is really a dark brown, but i recently dyed it aubrun with black underneath. now it is really a redish brown on top and i would really like to know the best way to color my hair red, and by red i mean the color of the crayon lol. i'm hopin i don't have to bleach it first been there and it turned orange, carrot orange, not a good look for me lol. any help would be great and somewhat on the cheap side - thanx :o)

I am desperate! Can anyone recommend a good hair stylist in Chicago(south side) that focuses on healthy hair?

I'm looking for someone who will care for my hair (I get relaxers and color) and keep it healthy and growing. I have gone to downtown salons but want someone close to home and who I can establish a relationship with for the long haul. I would prefer a serene atmosphere and don't want to spend all day in the shop. My last beautician of 5 years moved to L. A. and I have been on the lookout ever since. Any suggestions!I desperately need a relaxer!

i dyed my hair and the top is lighter than the bottom..the bottom barely even changed

braids?dreads?

i would like to get my hair braided or grow dreads. i'm not sure which ones i want but i know i want them to look nice and still be low maintanence. I kind of like the way Edgerrin James's braids look. I once had twisted braids put in where they use the bees wax. But it was too much work because the hairstylist said i had to come to her just to have them washed! So i want something that will look nice and that i can take care of myself without too much hassle. Anyone got suggestions?
