Hi... I use a shampoo & conditioner called Nioxin for this problem, though I don't know if it's sold in Canada (I assume that's where you are). I buy it at J.C. Penney's hair salon, here in California, and I think it's usually sold in salons with other high-end shampoos.

I honestly don't know if it's made a huge differerence for me personally, but I can tell you it hasn't worsened the problem. It's an excellent quality shampoo/conditioner system, and I love it b/c it has some mint in it or something, and not only does the smell (not that strong; just enough) kind of wake me up in the morning, but it feels nice and tingly on my scalp. Like... soothing and pure for both my scalp and hair. Way better than that cheapo Herbal Essences I was using before.

Sometimes I'm kind of cheap about products, but this was worth it.

here's a link to it, with some other product reviews: http://www.regrowth.com/hair_loss_product_reviews/hair_loss_shampoos.cfm .

I don't know about shoppers but a lot of salons sell a product called Nioxin. There are so many different kinds so you know you'll get a product that's just for your type of thinning hair. And the best part, it really works and smells like peppermint. yum. Ask the hair stylist and they will break it all down for you.
