braids?dreads?

i would like to get my hair braided or grow dreads. i'm not sure which ones i want but i know i want them to look nice and still be low maintanence. I kind of like the way Edgerrin James's braids look. I once had twisted braids put in where they use the bees wax. But it was too much work because the hairstylist said i had to come to her just to have them washed! So i want something that will look nice and that i can take care of myself without too much hassle. Anyone got suggestions?

All of these styles require maintenance. I don't know where people get the impression that locks are dirty...... My brother wore locks for 5 years and he actually went to the salon more than I did, every two weeks for a shampoo and every 4 weeks for the roots or new growth to be twisted. But his hair was very clean. You don't use oil in locks because oil collects dust and dirt....... maybe they appear to be unclean to people because some people you see with them don't go back like they should to get the maintenance dont on them but his were always really neat and nice, very clean looking. He lives in LA and his stylist would give him shea butter cream and what you do is take each lock one at a time and roll it in the palm of your hand. This smooths the lock and gives it a shiny and neat look. With braids you still have to get them rebraided every two weeks at least, and that's if you tie them down at night to keep them from frizzing. But yes it is best to go back to your stylist in between styles for shampoo so that if any of your hair needs extra grooming she is right there to make sure you maintain your freshness...............

dreads are nasty. i don't understand them at all, why would you want to walk around with dirty hair? and don't get braids either. You want something that looks nice go for the clean cut look.

dress like the fashions they image. minimum makeup. adequate to intensify your functional factors, do not over do it. i do not study top, yet regrettably if ur twig skinny - they could no longer employ you. hollister is an particularly ineffective employer :( Goodluck. DONT GED DREADS!!! THEY RUIN YOUR HAIR AND CAN CAUSE ACNE BECAUS THEY HOLD ALOT MORE OIL!!!! PLUSE BRAIDS ARE SUPER SEXY!!!
