Get regular trims so that you get rid of the dead ends. Dead ends lead to split ends and weak hair...Dont use grease on your scalp it clogs the pores and makes you get flakes. I stopped blow drying my hair and let it air dry. I use Olive Oil hair sheen (in a green can) every day on hair and I spray it on the scalp..Make sure to condition regularly.. Mostly stay away from the heat and chemicals. Braids can pull your hair but if they are not too tight and you dont leave them in too long they help to get your hair to grow.. Make sure to get enough vitamin E in your daily diet also.. Good luck..

I will suggest a few things since I'm in the process of growing my hair. I limit how many times I wash my hair. A good shampoo and conditioner are Pantene Pro V women of color line, it has minerals and protein in it and is pretty good for you hair. If you got extra money buy there morstirizer as well and use as directed. Another product i use is called Wild Growth hair oil, I bought mines at Sally's Beauty Supply store, it's like $6 or $7 bucks. It has a weird smell to it but it really works, just use it as directed. Also if your hair is relaxed make sure you great treatment every now and then and get you end trimmed. Also keep your hair covered at night and keep a clean pillowcase on your pillow. If you have natural virgin hair, keep it nourished.

My hair was down my back when I was younger, and I am in the process of getting it back to that length. I have been getting my hair braided (pixies, micros & kinky twists) for almost 2 years now, and my hair is growing like a weed. I grew out the perm in my hair, so now my hair is all natural. I would suggest finding someone who can braid hair well, and keep your hair braided up. Or you can get your hair pressed instead of relaxed, that is what I used to do, but I hate doing my hair so I don't anymore.

are u bald? if u are not bald then obviously ur hair grows.
if u want to have more length then stay natural, don't use chemicals and deep condition ur hair at least once a week. only shampoo once a week so u don't over-dry it or strip it of its natural oils, and use a leave in daily conditioner every day.
oh yeah, eat healthy, no junk food
