for all you pple with dyed hair! help!!!?

ok, i was trying to remove it, so i tried dish soap 3 times and it didn't do anything, but i think it made my roots darker and my hair a little lighter!?!?! is that normal?
please help me!!!

Dish soap is definitely not going to remove hair dye. Either go out and by a box of new color or ask a salon for stripper, which will do just what it says strip the dye you put it out after several uses.

PLEASE !! dont use anymore dishsoap that is very bad! the color is in the hair not on it. You can try buying some professional stuff from a beauty supply but be careful if it stripps the hair you can end up with a worse color that you have now. Is the color permanent or semi-permanent? Is it lighter or darker than your original color? Did you do it at home? First you need to condition it well after you washed it with dish soap. Sorry there are alot of things that you can do, but someone needs to know more about what you did.

People don't realize when they dye their hair darker, these dyes still take out your natural color and replaces it with the darker color. So, yes, when you tried the dish soap, your hair did lighten up, making your outgrowth look darker.You didn't say if your hair turned brassy, which is one of the problems of trying to strip out unwanted dye this way or any other way. If I were you, I'd go you local salon and have your hair highlighted. By the way, don't try to lighten up your hair by buying a color, like something to make your hair blond and use it, because color cannot take out color.

Yeah, stay away from usng dish soap on your hair no matter what state it's in dyed or natural.
It will strip your hair of just about everything BUT color.

I would suggest going to a salon for this problem. Stripping your hair of color is long tedious work, but in the end if you truly want to get your color out- that's the safest most effective way to go.

did you use a regular box of dye from the store? what color did you start with...and what color were you trying to dye your hair?

because your roots are newer growth, they don't take color as quickly as the rest of your hair---which is why you need to leave dye on roots longer, then put it on the rest of your hair for a shorter amount of time.

the only way to fix it is to go see a professional stylist. tell them that you're coming in for a color correction. they'll ask you about it so they know what they're dealing with before you get there.

Dish soap will usually make your hair lighter.

You should either try going for another color, something that will cover up what you're hiding but first I need to know what color you have now?

O wow... A similar thing happened 2 me!!!!!

If it's a permanant dye, then stop washing it so much, and wait for a week to pass by (YES- with your dyded hair... I'm sorry if you don't like it) and a week later, dye it back to your original (or a wanted hair color) hair color. DO NOT dye your hair B4 a week goes by!!!!! (TRUST ME! I've dyded my hair 5 times in a week once, and now, my hair has 3 different colors, AND my hair fell out SOOOOOO much!!!!!)

And just by washing your hair, it won't get the color off... U hav 2 dye it!!!!!

You can go to a beauty supply store and buy color stripper. Otherwise, if you want to quickly remove the color, shampoo with Prell a few times. It's extremely harsh on hair color.

Call the 800 number on the box of dye. I made a major mistake once and they knew exactly what to do.
