I was thinking of earning a cosmetology license to get me a somewhat of a stable job while I go through college. Im really in need of money cuz I do pay for everything, no financial aid whatsoever. I figured Being 20 and having a little small part-time retail job won't take care of my bills. Well anyway, I was just wondering what's it like working at a salon?? how does the whole money go? I really get real sensitive when it comes to pleasing customers...I was wondering if u think i should pursue a certificate in cosmetology? what other jobs could I get??

Question Details:Let's serve up the problem first: I have very minor dandruff; I don't get snowflake sized dandruff flakes floating around in my hair. However, when I run my fingers through my hair, I can feel that my scalp has a rather rough texture. Occasionally, I come across tiny, crusty bumps on my scalp that when removed by scratching it off (I know it sounds gross but bear with me) resemble yellowish, clearish, whitish, translucent plugs. If I periodically scratch off the tiny crusty blip, it becomes a sort-of sore scab that when picked off leaves blood. When I visually examined my scalp up close with a mirror, I saw that my scalp has an irregularly rough texture with what seems like little pieces of dandruff on the verge of falling off.

I would really appreciate if someone could tell me what is wrong with my scalp! It's very frustrating to find a shampoo that is right for me. Answerers, PLEASE give SERIOUS consideration to your response.

I'm an African American female and about 4 months ago I put a reddish rinse in my hair which didn't take that well, so I waited for it to wash out. New years eve I dyed my hair Spice Red, my original hair color is a dark brown, and althoughn you can see the color it didn't take as well as I wanted it to. How long should I wait before I dye it again.

My hair is very curly. Normally I blow it straight and use a flat iron with straightening spray but it is still not very straight. How do I get it really soft and straight?

I am thinking to buy a curling iron because I'm tired of my hair style. I want to make it a little curly, but I'm not sure if curling irons curl your hair or not. I am also afraid of damaging my hair with the heat. any suggestions? and what is the best hair curling iron?

Think they are tough? Seriously, its not like some 5'6 girl with real short hair acting tough is fooling any of us guys. We could still very easily take advantage of her.

my hair is currently dark auburn but i'm getting a little bored with the color and ive been thinking of dying my hair black...like blue-black, and if all goes well i was thinking of putting in some blue streaks to match. (yes, i know it's a little out there, but just go with me here) anyway, i was just wondering if anybody out there knew about any demi-permenant (lasts about 28 washes or so) hair dyes in the "blue-black" color region and i was going to ask if anybody knew of any permanent color streak systems, but now that i think of it, i'll take demi-permenant streaks as well. THANKS! =D
