If you were born with coarse hair or even somewhat coarse.
Softeners or oil treatments are about the best you can do.
Try using Pantene Products, they seem to look fabulous.
Do not use mousse , gel or heavy products on your hair. This does away with the soft and silky you are looking for.

some of the new hair products are good ... I had the same problem and started using the Sunsilk line and an ionic dryer ... letting hair dry naturally most of the time it's really pretty good. Hair dresser also said that if you point the dryer directly at hair it closes the hair folicles which changes the hairs appearance and doesn't allow it a smoother look ... happy stylin !!!

Deep Conditioners and Less Blow-Drying and Direct Heat products....hair needs to be moisturized from inside and out...so make sure you are also drinking plenty of water. Without the water intake deep conditioners and oil treatments will be a waste of time

Pour Olive oil into your hair and slick it back, at night wearing a shower cap or sleep with a towel on your pillow, in the morning , wash it out with a gentle shampoo. give that a try.

Have you tried a nice leave-in conditioner like Infusium? My friend always used that and her hair was as soft as silk.
