I am putting a book together of off the wall random thoughts. And I do mean random. It's going fairly well and I am thinking about even getting it published or something. Does anyone have any random thoughts? If you want I can put your name in it too.

I am starting to write a book, but I don't have anything solid yet. I want to know what other people like to read. I'm not sure about the plot yet, but I do know I want to have a story with sacrifice, twists, plot twists, and an ending nobody thought would happen. My question is this: What should my book be based around? Does anybody have any good ideas they would like to share with me? Anything will help. Even if its just throwing an idea out in the open, I will accept it. I just need a little bit more of an idea and also what people like to read most. Thanks for all your help in advance.

What do you think will happen in the last book? What are you hoping for?

I think Dumbledore is alive; in fact, I think he may have made a horcrux himself. I also believe that Snape really is on Voldemort's side, and I hope that Ron and Hermione hookup and Harry and Ginny get back together!!

It's written from the perspective of an off-world being. Does it give you a visual image? Do you want to see more of it, or should I stop wasting your time?

In the Northern Hemisphere of the third planet from a small primary, there is a long and narrow island. A female biped, species Homo Sapiens, is walking across the sand toward the ocean. She is a maker of stories, some real and others fiction based on reality.

Story-making is ofen a solitary profession and she is feeling the need for companionship. Although she is intrigued with mystery, when she is not making stories, she believe in being straightforward. This is why she looks neither to the right nor to the left, but keeps her eyes focused on the incoming tide.

I want to read a good book at a more mature level I guess...sex...sex...drugs...im a guy. I want a book similar to Trainspotting...I really like the concept of it but it's in a very thick accent and really hard to read, more annoying than anything...

books like Choke by Chuck P, Reqrieum for a Dream...good books. I have a 10 hour plane ride next week and I want to be entertained!

It's in Australia - Victoria. I was gonna use Melbourne but I think I'd rather make up my own. I'd feel more in control then, and wouldn't have to worry so much about mistakes!
Can you suggest anything that might help - any "do's and don'ts?
Oh and I want it to be a city, rather than a town, so:
1. How much of a population do I need to have for it to be classified a city and
2. How much of a population would I need to have so that it could have a university?

One of my favorite books in my collection is The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. When I first bought it, I expected that it would have interesting bits in it, but also (being a nonfiction book) be somewhat boring. When I read it, however, I found myself unable to put it down. For a nonfiction book, this is rare. That's because it has a rather unusual style to it; that is, it reads rather like a novel. There is actual dialogue between the participants in the story (and that's what it seems like; a story), and elements--such as foreshadowing--that are normally found in fiction. At the same time, though, it also presents the facts in a no-nonsense fashion. And that is why it has quickly become my favorite nonfiction work.

Now, it's your turn. What's the best nonfiction book you've ever read, and why?

I bought a used paperback textbook (like for a college course) so it's heavy but the cover already came off and the first chunk of pages are starting too. Anyways, when I finish the class I will want to resell it but was wondering what is the best way to get the cover back on? I think tape is a little too tacky looking but it seems like the whole thing is about to fall apart but I haven't been rough with it I think it's just weakening down
