Unfortunately, yes you do. And you usually pay more than the cover price because they are library editions with special hard covers on them for heavy use. Clean your room. Look under your bed. Pax - C

I happen to work at the library by where I live and yes, you do have to pay for a lost item. I don't know about other libraries, but we charge the cost of the book to us (which varies, of course) plus a processing fee. If you want to know your library's policy and how much it would be, I suggest you contact the library. Also, you may be able to just buy a replacement copy but I would check and see if the library would accept that. Good luck

Call them and ask. It depends on the library and sometimes the librarian. Don't say you lost one, just on what conditions you have to pay, like if it was stolen. My library has almost a fifteen dollar grace amount, but now they keep asking everyone if they want to pay it everytime you go.
