I love the book...its arguably my favorite. It is a close tie between The Giver and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Alice in Wonderland). What do you think?

I started writing a novel when I was almost 15 (inspired by events occuring at the time of people in my life). Two years later, I have finished the novel. Although my main intention was to write it for fun and because I thought it an important story, I am now wondering if it would be possible to try and publish it. I have always wanted to be an author, but 16, will anyone take my work seriously? I have not shown the novel to many - although my creative writing teacher read parts and told me I have the most mature style of writing she has ever come across in any student & my characters are so real & raw.

I'm just starting to read it. I know it's been about 14 years since it was published, best seller and everything. Is it accurate even when all those years have passed? If you have read it, do you agree with it?

Just in general, do you usually like a book, or the movie based on the book?
I always like the book better than the movie, I havent once come across a movie that is better than a book.
What about you?
just a random question

Choose either a series or a novel that you liked BEST, and another series or novel that made you feel like you'd wasted your time reading it.

My favorites: I liked Robin Hobb's "Farseer" series a lot. I also liked Raymond E. Feist's Riftwar/Midkemia stuff a lot.

My picks for blahs of the genre: Dragonlance Chronicles and Fionavar Tapestry.

Whenever I think of a topic to write about ie: a book..not poetry or anything...:]
I always get another idea that spurs from the topic Im writing about right then or I always get distracted by grammatical errors...Its rather annoying and I always end up dumping the whole story idea.
