you need to read Visitors by Bob Chapman. I haven't spoken to one person who didn't like it.

Jane Austen. Probably you have already read these, but just in case they are amazing. The subtext is so clever and fun.
The girly ones: Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, the Alice books by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, The Princess Diaries and other Meg Cabot, Peaches (and there's a sequel now), anything by Sharon Creech, Angus Thongs and Full-frontal Snogging,
Timeless childrens books: Ella Enchanted, Pictures of Hollis Woods, The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, anything by Ann Rinaldi, The Witch of Blackbird Pond
Other: Memoirs of a Geisha, My Name is Asher Lev, The Robe
Young Adult: Shabanu, Uglies, Podkayne of Mars, anything by Gordon Korman or Lois Lowry

I highly recommend a quirky, very entertaining novel called the
Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett, and its follow-up A Hat Full of Sky. Also, check out I Was a Teenage Fairy by Francesca Lia Block, another great YA read with attitude. Another great one that I loved when I was younger (still do, in fact) is Avi's The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle -- I think this one may be intended for slightly younger readers, but it's fantastic.
Those are the ones I can think of off of the top of my head... hope this helps.! :)

Ah, I have it. Everworld, by K.A. Applegate. It's a 12-book fantasy series, written for teens, essentially. Preview it at the link below.
You might also like Catch-22, by Joseph Heller. It has a quirky sense of humor that is probably over most teens' heads, but I'm sure you can handle it.
And if you haven't read the Chronicles of Narnia series by C.S. Lewis yet, it isn't too late! Actually, Malacandra, Perelandra, and That Hideous Strength by Lewis are good reads also (though I've only read Perelandra so far).
God bless.

How about the Hardy Boys series? Shakespeare? I read a pretty good book lately called The Ghost of the Cavalier. I really enjoyed it. I think you can get it at an good bookstore. If you can't find it on the shelf you can order it, or order through any on-line bookseller like Amazon.com.
