I remember liking that book a lot growing up. Another book from that time that was really popular was "Hatchett" by Gary Paulson. If you haven't read it, you should check it out.

It was (and still is) one of my all time favorite books. I had to read it as a child and it's one of the books that has stayed with me. So, I personally loved it, but I can't speak (write?) for anyone else. :)

It was a really good book...
I read it when I was in 4th grade.
When I got all growed up and got my first dog just for me...I named him Rhontu.
He was sure worthy of the name too.

I remember loving it when I was a kid. It's been about 20 years since I read it though and I don't remember anything about it other than it was really good.

Yes!!!!!! I read it in the fifth grade.....its one of my (many) favorite books!!!!!!!! it was so sad tho : ( I think it was one of those books that i wouldnt pic up on my own, so i'm thankful to my teacher for making us read it. That same teacher made us read "Hatchet" too! (i saw someone else mention "hatchet") I liked that book too.
