Okay, I don't remember much about the book, but here's what I do know. I remember reading it when i was the 4th grade, like 1996 or so. The book, if i best rememer right, had a girl as the main character. And I think she may have moved to this town where they had this mystery monster (maybe a cat-like monster). The monster had a really off-the-wall name, i could barely pronounce it and neither could my teacher. And I think somewhere in the story the characters saw like glowing green or yellow eyes in the bushes. Geez, that's about all i can remember. It was a good book though and I'm trying to find the title or anything that will help me find the title.

i am sick of the typical boring, depressing books required from school, they are causing me to lose interest in reading at all!

i really liked the DaVinci Code, and i am also guilty of loving Harry Potter, but i want to gain some intellect this time... action/mystery is probably the best... (ABSOLUTELY NO CHICK-FLICK TYPES, or DEPRESSING BOOKS)

I am reading Huck Finn and the following question is on my analysis sheet:

Why do you think Tom referred to Louis XVI while planning Jim's escape?

For me, it's James Agee's "A Death In The Family". Every single word in that book is poetry...and metaphorically those words mirrored my life.

Feel free to make a list! If I had to choose a second and third I'd go with "To Kill A Mockingbird" by Harper Lee & "Call It Sleep" by Henry Roth. "Breakfast of Champions" (Kurt Vonnegut) and "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" (the late, great Douglas Adams) are the best satires; "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter", "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn", "The House On Mango Street", and "The Catcher In The Rye" are my favorites for stories involving children, etc.

Who do you think is going to die in the next Harry Potter book (besides Voldemort and/or Harry)? J.K. Rowling said in an interview that two characters who were not planned to be killed off are going to die in the final Harry Potter book. I know this is an opinion question, but I'd like to know what you think.

It seems like you can prove just about anything with numbers. I just saw a preview for The number 23 and I wanted to know what the deal is with weird number coincidences. Okay, there are 44 words in this details and It's the second question I asked today so...

Many people think Lenore is virginia Clemm But it can't be simply because if Poe was refering to Virginia he might have used the name Annabel Lee such as he did before Lenore came out. Lenore is the most suspicious of Poe's work because it is the only name that repeats in his work.

I just finished "Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden.
It was excellent. It was just what satisfied suspense-ridden people such as myself. Of course, most of it was given away by the fact that I had already seen the movie.
Currently, I am reading three books at a time. I am reading "Logan's Run" which is by two men whose names I can not remember (and ultimately do not want to), "Pet Sematary" by Stephen King, "Rose Madder" also by Stephen King.

Anyone else find any good books?
