I'm looking for a good read with depressing tones and a dark theme. Not run-of-the-mill amateur emo poetry, but something that is complete and appears professional. Can be published or unpublished (from the internet).

Any suggestions?

There's this poem I like a lot but I don't remember the name or the author. I know it talks about a knight and there's this lady/girl that is in this sort of ball or dance, or maybe it was her wedding, idk. And the knight comes to the feast and he dances with her, and her father is mad for some reason which idk. Then I think the knight whispers something to her ear and she runs away with him in his horse I think.
If someone knows, please help!!!! Its stuck in my head and it's killing me!

...Dave Pelzers books (a child called it, the lost boy, a man named dave). I am halfway through the second one and they are so unbelievebly heart wrenching and inspiring too. I can't believe he went through so much, how did you feel about his ordeal? If you haven't read them I recommend them!!!

I think there is no action so i cannot imagine a film based on that book.

Title: Leaving Me To Face The Lies
Written by a 14 year old girl

I have been facing a brick wall of lies for days now

Without a single person wondering of my motives

Nor without any questions of turning back to the real world

This is the punishment that I have chosen for my sins

And I will serve it without a single word of complaint

Maybe someone will notice me standing here alone

Or someone would care to look up for a change instead of down

This is a crime that I comitted so willingly, so freely

Is that of the upmost severity and is looked down upon

The horrible deed that I did was allow you to steal my heart

I allowed you to guide me past the darkness, towards the light

But when all was revealed to everyone, you fled in terror

Without a word of apology or vague explanation

You left me alone to their cruel eyes, the tyrant's stare

And I was trialed an unfair trial and sentenced to

Title: You Were The One
Written by a 14 year old girl

Once upon a time, I believed in love

I believed in happiness and trust

I believed that no one would ever break my heart

Until you came along

Until you walked into my life

I gave you my trust freely

And you used it to get the best of me

And as I sat there, I had no idea

That you would soon grab a hold of my heart

And tear it in half and shred it to peices

And as you destroyed me

I watched as you went to her

And I watched as you both held hands

And I saw as you both smiled

Together

And then I realized

That you were the one

You were the one who walked me through life

You were the one who made me love myself

You were the one that made me believe in true love

But now

You are the one who makes me walk through life

Alone

You are the one who makes me hate myself

You are the one who makes me believe in true hate

And yet, as I watch you from my corner

I keep walking,
in search of escape
I see you walking,
but a different way

I cannot feel you,
I cannot speak
You can’t see my love,
your eyes are too weak

I stand and remember
that day so long ago,
I feel it was my fault
that you had to go.

You turned left
when I kept going straight
Songs that we loved,
now songs that I hate

I wish I could tell you,
I wish you would see,
What I feel for you,
means much more to me,

Than just any like,
Than just any crush
You’re walking with her,
and holding her hand,
you whisper to her,
and she starts to blush

I do not feel anger,
I feel no jealousy,
I know you don’t mean it,
But you still hurt me

The journey is long,
As is my life,
I want to be with you,
Someday be your wife

Although this long path
seems never to end,
I trust that when day,
I’ll come to a bend

Where questions are answered
Where doubts are erased
So all of my problems,
for once may be faced

I don’t hate you now,
And I never will,
For no matter the guy,
Your shoes can’t be filled
I can hear your voice,
Wherever I go
The way I care for you,
You might never know

When I see your face,
In the sky up above,
There’s only one word,
that I’m thinking of

Let me say this,
for once and for all
The only word I see,
in my head is “love”
