Anyone know of any good mystery novels. Has to be at least 100 pages, but I don't want it longer than 200. Please give a brief description, without giving anything away :). Thx in advance.

Shackled by Bill Pronzini This is one in a series of books about a detective whose name is never spoken "The Nameless Detective Series". At 245 pages its a little longer than you wanted but its a great read.

Kidnapped one winter night near his home in San Francisco, he is driven to a remote mountain cabin and left, chained in a leg iron, with only enough supplies to last three or four months: his masked captor has planned a slow and vengeful death. I've searched my brain (and my large mystery collection) and most of the books I've found that I enjoyed are Agatha Christies, which are usually 250-300 pages. They go really quickly, so I don't think they take much longer to read, but if you're definitely looking for something under 200 pages, I'd suggest "The Sign of the Four" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (a Sherlock Holmes novel). It's about a young woman who comes to ask Holmes for help. The link below is to an amazon page with reviews.

"The Ghostway" by Tony Hillerman (200 pages) . When a shoot-out in a laundry mat on the Navajo Reservation sends Officer Jim Chee on the search of the killer. His only witness saw the photo of the man the killer was looking for, but couldn't read the words on the picture. Is it enough to help Chee solve the case?

Hillerman is a former president of the Mystery Writer of America and has won several Edgars and Grand Master Awards. His descriptions of cultural traditions of the Native Americans of the Southwest are spellbinding.
