First of all, I am NOT a student wanting help on a reading assignment and too lazy to read the assigned work and wanting somebody to tell me what it is about.

I like the poetry of Langston Hughes. I recently discovered that he had written plays as well. I am trying to be a playwright/fiction writer. Anyhow, I was curious if any of his plays were good, and if so, what ones would you recommend that I read?

Please, this question is only for people who have actually read any or many of his PLAYS. I don't need a copy of what you found on Wikipedia, or a commentary on what poem is your favorite. Thanks.

Ok...so here goes.
Name the book that this quote is from and the page number. First right answer gets 10 points.
"I have a new love. Don't tell Hector.
I have fallen in love with a dirt floor. I am obsessed. I am devoted.
I am its humble servant.
I am going to marry it. I am going to have dirty, flat children with it."

I’ve got something to say
It comes from the heart
I’ll love you forever
As I have from the start

You bring me sunshine
When there’s nothing but rain
You stop my suffering
When my worlds full of pain

The love we share
Is a love that can’t fade
It will only grow stronger
With each passing day

Now I can tell you
I hope you agree
We belong together
It was just meant to be
You’re my past present and future
Just believe in me

I am a budding author, and I just wanted to know about what the target word count is for books intended for various age groups. Does anyone know? Or know of a helpful site?

What is it about these stories and poems by Edgar Allan Poe that has made these stories classics (beyond the fact that they were written in the 18th century).

Stories in question:
The Raven.
The Fall of the House of Usher.
Murder in the Rue Mourge.
The Tell Tale Heart

I have always loved the poem The Raven but I was wondering why do others like them and what has set them apart from other stories?

I thank you in advance for your insight?

Anyone know any good books about Zombies, Vampires, The Black Death, and other things of the sort. I already read the Anne Rice books and enjoyed them and am currently reading Blood and Chocolate (did any one see that by the way?). I'm 15, so if you could suggest some for someone that age, that would be great.

He's almost 15, not a great reader, but getting better. He needs a book for english, he likes war stuff and he loved 'The Outsiders', actually he read all 3 of those. I'd like it to be age appropriate and not too much cursing - can you suggest a good book for him? Thanks!
