If you are referring to John Holmes the porn actor, he died from AIDS on March 13th, 1988. He was born John Curtis Estes, in Ashville, Ohio, August 8th, 1944. He began his porn career in 1968, at the age of 24. He was the inspiration for two Hollywood movies, "Boogie Nights" and "Wonderland."
