I am a writer and I need help for a new story involving some kind of animal. It has to be extremely large due to mutations, lethal, and scary. However, I want it to be unoriginalso no snakes, bats, spiders, etc. And it has to be on land. Help?

How about a wolverine, hyenna, coyote, jackal, Nile monitor, frog, great horned owl, or mongoose. They would be some wicked imaginative mutations.A baboon would be crazy insane! I could go on and on.

I'd go with a large monitor species. Lb for lb they are much stronger than crocodilians and nearly all species carry an anticoagulating venom in their saliva. If left untreated it'll usually just keep bleeding for a LONG time. My personal favorite is the Nile monitor as they are very common and they have an invasive population in Florida that's causing major problems. Maybe incorporate the Florida population of Nile monitors getting mutated and destroying something in Florida. It's also worth noting that 99% of Nile monitors are EXTREMELY vicious and even that is an understatement. They run faster than humans as well and already grow to nearly 8 ft in some cases. Some monitors like the komodo dragon have venom so powerful it causes a sharp drop in blood pressure, excessive bleeding and very likely, death. You could even say another species developed a similar venom since nearly all monitors have some type of venom that causes blood to not clot. Some stronger than others.
