Depends on the type, of course, but I did like Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer and yes, I wanted to finish it. A few others were The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold and a few of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter books. Oh, and Philippa Gregory - The Other Boleyn Girl (historical fiction).

Those types of books are the best. =) The Bartimaeus Trilogy, the Harry Potter series, the Series of Unfortunate Events series, and A Prayer for Owen Meany are good books. The first three are fantasy, but the last one is sort of religious, but it's really excited and funny too.

Books I couldn't put down: Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress (loved it). Confederacy of Dunces (probably an all time favorite). Anything by Dan Brown is a fast read. Stephen Kings early works.
And for something more current anything by Lee Childs

Of course the Harry Potter series is one of the best i have encountered. There is also a Filipino series called the Rosales Novels by F. Sionil Jose. It depicts Philippine history via fiction. You can also assume the relationships among the characters through the different periods in Philippine history.

Wicked by Gregory Maguire. Very good. It is about the Wicked Witch of the West and how she really wasn't that wicked. Enjoyable read.
