I have a discussion coming up with my college. The topic is darwin and his work, it will basicaly be about who he was and what his views were. I dont want to base my argument on rumors, i have heard that part of his work suggested that after the apes when man started to stand, he continued to evovle. He said that evolution of man kind can be seen by the multitued of races. That it started in africa and man kind was perfect by the time it reached Europe. is this true? was this actually apart of his work? Did he honestly believe that Africans are/where superior to Europens.
I may not be able to reply stright away but any comments or ideas will be really helpful.

Would the British Expeditionary Force, (most of their army,) have been anihilated at Dunkirk because, "Withdrawal is not an option. The Germans will follow us home if we don't fight them in France?"

Would the Battle of Britain have been lost because the no-bid contract for Supermarine Spitfires was too expensive to buy Hawker Hurricanes too?

Would the war have been over before the Royal Army got the Sterling A-3 smg in any great numbers, because the cottage industries were frozen out?

And would the US Army have been home right now because Churchill would have seen the wisdom of committing greater forces to Afghanistan to finish off the Taliban and run down bin Laden instead of weakening the forces in Afghanistan to chase phantoms in Iraq?

Is it an unfair comparison? Churchill knew war, both as a correspondent in the Boer War and the sole surviving officer of his WWI regiment, while Bush had his daddy get him a slot in the Texas Air Guard and blew off going to the meetings?

does it show on your face when you smile in vain?
how do you hold back the tears so no one knows
the creeping sadness from your thousand sorrows?
black seeping from your mangled rotting heart
solace..solace! before it gets too dark....

...there! anyways...the main Q is...How do you write a poem that hides the pain? =D

can you please give me a line or two to start with?
thank you... =)

My View:
God is as good as our parents. If we don’t ask him, who else we are going ask.
Many have the guilty feeling that god might mistake them if they keep asking him materialistic things. May pray, God you give me what is best for me. However in the worst situations we can’t stop ourselves. We go and ask him.
According to me, if you treat god like your father or mother, you will demand everything from him. You will not hesitate to ask.
May philosophies say, that it is your ego which stops you asking. If you really trust him, if you love him like your parents, you will go and fight with him, demand him what you want.
Trust him fully. Even if you have little bit doubt in your mind you won’t give. So from today friends go and ask him loudly what you want. Trust me he would give you.
-------------------------------
Don’t forget to star if you like this question ... Hey this is only a reminder. I am not demanding. Don't star ... if you don't like it

I'm auditioning for a drama school -- 17 and female; my believable age range would be around 14 to 25. I need to find monologues and a song that haven't been overdone already. It's also an overseas school, so I have to be impressive enough that they'll choose me over a resident. This is what I need:

-One Shakespearean or Jacobean monologue, in verse
-One monologue from a 20th century play
-One monologue from a published contemporary (post-1980) play
-A 2-3 minute musical theatre song appropriate for an alto of unknown range

Even if you can only suggest one thing, you're helping me quite a bit. Thank you.

I'm a person who has a habit of putting his foot in his mouth, so I think that it might be useful to have a list of quotes from Shakespeare memorized so that I could get out of tight situations.

So here is what I need, the quote and a reference to what I'd be getting out of.

One for "I'm sorry I got drunk and asked you to get naked" would be really useful, cause that tends to happen a lot

I am not interested in fiction books and I am not interested in celebrity biographies because I don't think I would really be interested in what has happened in their lives. I find that I am choosing to read about child abuse or women who have been treated badly. Why do I want to read this type of thing? Am I sick or something? Is it normal to want to read about horrible things that happened to other people?

What does Pharoses mean? (2000 BC was the time of the Pharoses who themselves, offered saffron up as a sacrifice to their gods.)
I searched for it but only find:
Pharos (fâr`ŏs), peninsula, extending into the Mediterranean Sea, N Egypt, NE Africa, forming two harbors at Alexandria. Originally an island, it was joined to the mainland by a mole, constructed by order of Alexander the Great. On Pharos stood the celebrated lighthouse completed (c.280 B.C.) by Ptolemy II, which is usually included among the ancient Seven Wonders of the World.
which doesn't seem suitable for this sentence,
help?!
