Casanova

It was a night like this
full moon and some mist
and the streets of “jade” were dead

And rumor still had it
he hid in some attic
then romanced while all were in bed

Some say he died
some say he’s alive
but, ran off from the men in town

and the women will hide
that he’s there every night
so thankful that he’s still around

“Casanova, my friend
please do come again
how my heart aches for you desperately”

“I could never again
be pleased with my man
not after you spent time with me”

He’s the ultimate lover
and surly no other
could live up to his devious ways

Let the secrete be kept
and just kick back instead
cause tonight, just may be your day...

Just wondering here, but how do people measure the concepts such as "good" and "bad", "right" and "wrong"? What do people comprehend as any of the aforementioned? Why?

There seem to be so many different ideals and way of measuring such concepts - afterall, we have those ideas and can ultimately make our own ideas as to the above and what falls into those categories, made me wonder how others measure/comprehend such concepts.

Although it is extreme (and not my belief) take the concept of Hitler and committing mass genocide. A lot of people will say those things were wrong, but why were they wrong? How do we define it?

Just curious here. Sure, it killed the cat, but life would be a lot less diverse without it IMO.

Toodles

Once crowned the Queen of modern punk, I hail from Glossop, Derbyshire. I began my career as a teacher, and despite my early foray into fashion I managed to continue teaching up until 1971.

When my first marriage failed, I began a relationship with a well known band manager and it was here that the inspiration grew for what would be my fashion label. I began selling my creations, but I received most attention when the band, SexPistols wore my clothing.

My punk style included chains, safety pins and bondage gear, as well as spiked dog collars. The use of the traditional “tartan” design made my label more controversial and my name quickly became associated with the shock value of my clothing.

Several times, I have teamed up with social groups to use my fashion for a worthwhile cause. In 2006 I accepted a DBE (highest honor of the British Empire) and can now be addressed as a Dame.

We are developing day to day by growing our knowledge (scientific). Should this be continued forever or there must be a stop!

i had a friend who was WW2 veteran who is now deceased.
he was a black man and we were very close.he talked to me
alot about things that he didnt talk about with most people.
like events that he witnessed and was part of in the war.
he also talked about how things were in america back then
concerning african-americans and how they were treated as
if they were a lower class of people and didnt have the same
rights and privileges such as their access to certain public
places , restrooms etc.
here was a man who had served his country, risking life and limb everyday fighting for the freedom of others, and yet some
that he had fought for treated him as if he were inferior to
them when he was back in his home country...the same nation and people that he had fought for.

racism is a terrible thing...what are your thoughts?

I'm 24 with not much skill & I'd like to become a music producer, rapper, & actress & probably singer. When was younger, I was shy & now I'd like to explore my creativity. That guy Taylor Hicks from American Idol was 30 & became #1 with no prior vocal training. But if I were to get training & schooling & work on my skill, do you think I can become famous in 5 yrs. if I work on singing, writing songs, & trying to make music beats & stuff? Or am I wasting my time? Many people say I'm too old, but I see people my age who get a modeling or acting gig or something. They think you have to be young, like 6 & 7 to be discovered & have a chance to become a star. I have some song ideas that I wish I can put to use. Is it possible? Many people say record companies would laugh in my face. I hope not. I wonder what other steps do I have to take to try to at least get my foot in the door. I know some artists get rejected 6 or 7 times before they succeed.

Kind of a trick question, because I have my own opinion...and that's obviously going to be the answer... but maybe someone will validate their own opinion and change my mind. Either way, seems like a good chance for discussion...

Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
