So I've hit a few inevitable bumps in my writing, and I'd mean a whole lot if someone could help me out on the following points:

1. The novel takes place in a different world, and as such has different races, fauna, etc. How would I describe the appearance one of these without it boring the reader?

2. My main character has had a rather rueful past, and it just sounds like a sob story when I put it on paper. How would I avoid that, but still keep all of the original information?

3. I don't actually have complete plot yet. Any suggestions on where I could look to get ideas?

Any answers to these questions would be very greatly appreciated!

We are doing book reports, and I need a good book title that will teach me about American history before the 1900s. Any recommendations or suggestions? Thanks so much!

Some of the things I remember about the book, or series: It was set around the turn of the century (1900). The main character was very smart and had many schemes. One was he charged a nickel for people to come into his house and see the town's first toilet. Another time he made a key using a soap imprint.

I was probably around 10 when I read the books and my son is about that age and I'd like to find the books again for him to read.

I believe that the banning of books is wrong on a lot of levels. Books promote imagination and creativity, and how can you ban something that encourages mental strengthening?

I am a teenager, so you would think I could care less in the world of writing. Strike one. I am not simply interested in mindless video games, I also read a considerable amount of material. And, personally, the more controversial the material, the more I am inclined to read it. I searched all through the stores for Farenhiet 451, however I simply gave up because I could find it nowhere. Why? Because it had been banned! I can understand placing restrictions on obscene and pornographic material, but Farenheit 451? They've just banned a book, that is about banning books! How conservative can you possibly get?

I need to find a song to sing during tryouts for a musical. I'm going to be the youngest one trying out for this play. Most of the people will be adults and if I want even a small roll I'll need to amaze the casting crew. I have an extremely wide range, from alto to high saprano, and I need a song that'll show that. The song should also be very lively? It'd also be nice if it WASN'T a love song and it wasn't over-used. (You know, like, don't tell me to use a song that everybody uses when trying out for a play.)

P.S. I also need to look my age instead of looking like I'm twelve. Any ideas on how to make my makeup add a couple of years? Maybe a certain way to dress?

I have an idea for a shirt for Harley Davidson. I have searched the world over for a shirt like this and there isn't one. I thought I would submit a proposal to the company to use my design. How do I go about it? It must be sent via mail. I guess I could mail a copy to myself in order to copyright it. But the idea itself is the best part and I don't think it can be copyrighted. They could probably use the words and design their own version don't you think?

I am trying to take pictures of a live band rehearsing in a low-light recording studio. The room is lit with red and blue colored track lighting. I get beautiful shots, but if the performers move at all, they are very blurry. I want to be able to take the pictures without a flash in order to get all of the colors of the room that the flash washes out. I know it has to do with shudder speed, but I don't know how to set it long enough to get enough exposure, but short enough to keep the musicians from blurring out.

My camera is the Canon PowerShot S5 IS

The play is Ash Girl by Timberlake Wertenbaker (a version of Cinderella where the characters have deeper personalities) and I'm going for a minor speaking role, either one of the stepsisters or one of the seven deadly sins. I have two possible scripts to read, one for the sisters which is easier to read and one for a sin which is difficult but I guess less people will audition for.. Which one should I read? And how can I stand out, because I know lots and lots of people are auditioning. If any one knows the play or has been the director/casting judges of a play before I would be grateful for your opinions. Thanks

lies

Choked by your own lies,
Try this on for size
Contolled by your brainwashed mind
Salvation you will never find
Your religion makes me sick
People are so very thick
I answer to no one
Not even to God's son
My life is live my way
Don't care what people say
Spend your life just kissing as*
Nose pressed up against the glass
There are no pearly gates
Maybe in some other state
No sympathy you get from me
You are right were you should be
Where is your salvation
While the world lives in starvation
I pity you and all your cries
I hope you choke on all those lies.

This is not anti-religion, but anti-hypocrite. Keep that in mind. I believe in God, just not organized religion.

I run a small home based business where I do sketches for people. I have been giving them the originals and making copies for myself to keep as record....Should I be doing this the other way around (Giving them a copy and myself keeping the original?) Help! I don't know if legally I should just be giving them copies .... although I would assume they would want an original sketch.

What are some good ways to thin down acryllics. I want them thinner but not watery. The set was a gift and the paint is in small toothpaste looking tubes. Do I have to gesso the canvas or can I leave it plain. I know the texture will show through, and thats ok, but will it be any problems?
