Automatic washing machine. Washes, rinses and partially dries a load in 30 to 45 minutes while the person operating it does something else. Even the old style twin tub washers required attention every several minutes to unload the tub, spin dry the load, rinse and spin again. Try laundry by hand sometime and see how long it takes and the physical effort involved.

you can always just make your own very simply by first soaking a plain white sheet in tea or coffee (to achieve the old age look) then bake it on low keeping a careful eye on it (it could very well burn)
Else you could also use papyrus which i'm sure can be purchased online but my first suggestion is free!
