What does it take to become a photographer?

are there different types of photographers? By that I mean do all of them take the same kind of pictures.?

I was gonna take a class on photograpy but at that time I wasn't sure if its what I wanted to do.

I love taking pictures of things-my dogs,random things,family,sunsets, animals, my feet.

There are different specialties of photography, but the basics and standard techniques are very similar.

What does it take to become a photographer:

1) Become a master of the basics of photography.
Know aperture, shutter speed, ISO, WB, and how all these come together to make an exposure. You'll need to know lighting and how it works.

2) Understand composition, understand the rules of composition and know when to use them and when to break them. Understand basic concepts like rule of thirds, the triangle method, how to pose people for portraits, etc.

3) Pick a camera system and master the way it works, know what accessories are available and what you will need to accomplish your task.

All these things can be accomplished through study, either on your own like I nad many others have or, if you have the means take college classes to help accelerate your learning.

There are many different kinds of Photographers. It takes a lot of determination, drive and talent.

A lot depends on what you want to do, meaning, are you photographing still life, portraits, action/sports, fashion, fine art, phojo? Just build a portfolio and get your work out there. It is a tough business, just keep trying!

Never been a professional photographer..

but take hundreds of photos during the years.. do u have a back ground in photography.. ? I would think u would have to have at least one year from a community college or a school.. with training in that field..

But I know the news photographers have a hard time.. running and chasing.. have to have lots of Patience..

go down to ur nearest Walmarts.. if u have one?
and apply to be one in there.. ?;
It is a job and you are getting paid at the same time..
SEARS. K-Marts.. several different businesses .. do this..

I had thought about doing that...
