Yeah, so? He lived a long time ago and I doubt you're a bear hunter.
I'm related to someone famous, only two generations back. Big deal.

That's wonderful for you, but do the math if you count back 10 generations IE 2 parents 4 grandparents etc work out how many people you could be related to at Generation 10, ( this does not allow for family members marrying.

I've discovered thru my research that I am very distantly related to a number of famous and imfamous people. But why is it more exciting to find that you are related to someone with a ajded past. For example, I would be more excited to found out I was related to jack the Ripper than I would be to be related to Winston Churchill

I too am related to Daniel Boone. But as you will find out doing more research you will probably find out Dwight Eisenhauer (Ike) is also in your tree somewhere. You will find several other key historical figures in Boone's tree. Good luck!

Look at it this way, you are related to someone who is generally thought of positively in history (as opposed to Lizzy Borden for example) and you are too far distant to really claim relation, so life is the same as it was before you found out.

Despite the negative replies given thus far, I congratulate you. By learning this information, you can go back farther through the Boone lineage that is sure to be available.
Good luck on tracing your ancestors.
