Whats your opinion. I personally find that western influence has bad implications on them.

Children are same every where and learn to behave as per their upbringing and environment.Do you mean to suggest that environment in the west is not conducive for upbringing of such children? If you are a migrant or, settler or living in the west for a longer duration for whatever purpose,I can understand your feelings, which arise by comparing with back home conditions.Agreed.

In some ways yes and in other ways no. They are Americans and not whatever culture the parents are from. So they tend to be less disciplined but they also have more freedom. THough as an American with American kids, my kids are pretty well behaved. It is the parenting that is important. I have also been in other countries and seen children out of control. In a discussion with a coworker from India he made one telling comment. In America, the kids get to chose what they get to do when they grow up and it isnt decided by thier families.

Yes I live in the U.S., and we have to be the most spoiled in the world. Children can almost do anything they want, commit crimes, disrespect others(elders, parents)slack off in school, just look at P. Bush, he has gentlemen C's, (you get them for showing up,HE'S NOT THE SHARPEST TOOL IN THE SHED, and he became our Pres. y'all think an Asian company would hire him? I doubt it.,) party all-night and day,(yup, I had many of those) and have our parents fix our problems for us. I believe our court system is also to blame, back in the days, if I or a friend was in serious trouble, we received an *** whupping, there was no Time-outs, I would have rather been taken away by the police than face my Dad or a friends Dad. Now, place a hand on a child, then you have child protective services on your butt. There are no family values, just values of others.

I don't agree with you. I was born in America but my parents are immigrants, so I grew up in a different cultural background. Children from my parent's country are like gypsies. They know how to fool grown adults. American kids might misbehave but it's easy to fix them if the parent's aren't lazy. Kids from my parent's country are very sneaky and dishonest. They're not very innocent at all.

Maybe it's that if their parents are successful enough to make it to the west they must have some means to spoil their children. Or their parents are so busy working trying to make it, that they have little time to discipline their children. There are a lot of possible explanations.

Western children do not behave as well as Eastern children, but they are happier and have more self confidence.

I'm one of those kids. I would have to say that was untrue for me.....at the same time i was always the "weird" kid. I never fit in.

Well my culture is indian and i grew up in america. I ended up being pretty european. I guess thats half way inbetween.
