The Gutenberg Museum, housing the first printing press invented and named after the man that developed it, is located in Mainz, near Frankfurt, Germany. Actually, it is a replica press, as the original burned down. Johann Gutenberg developed the first printing press and printed the first Bibles ever to be printed on machinery instead of by hand of scribes. Many of the Bibles are displayed at the museum. It was a wonderful experience to visit there.

The movable type printing press was not invented in England. It was invited by Johannes Gutenberg in 1450 in Mainz, Germany.
Without a doubt one of the top three most influential inventions in the world. It was quickly, copied and reproduced all over Western Europe.

The printing press was invented by Gutenberg, who didn't live in England. Whoever built the first printing press in England did not invent it; but just copied someone else's invention.
