How many times do you have to take a reading? Will it work for flash?

First, I don't own a digital camera. However, I did read a review of the product and it said the ExpoDisc was intended for use with mixed lighting sources such as sunlight and incandescent and fluorescent. The examples the review showed looked to me to have better color.

One person's tool is another person's crutch I suppose.

If you look at the Expo Disc advertisement, you can see the great difference between images take with and without Expo Disc adjustment.

What they DON'T show you is the comparison between Expo disc and just plain white piece of paper. I used to shoot some video and we always white balanced using just plain white piece of paper. We NEVER felt there was something wrong with the color from this method.

As for stills (digital SLR), try manual white balance MODE or setting. In another words, just try setting on sunlight when outdoors and flash when using flash. You would be surprised how good the image will come out with just simple manual white balance SELECTION.

In the end just try setting white balance using white piece of paper. It is what you need. I would save my money for other photography toys that I need much more.

Good Luck.
