By being at peace yourself. Peace is within, what is within then becomes outside. First you start at home, don't argue with your family. Remember that everything that happens on a personal scale also happens on a global scale. Don't argue with your neighbours, you could be creating a war.

Controlling the prejudice that everyone has and treat people fairly.
By raising your voice to the officials that believe war is necessary.
Shout against the people preaching fear. Fear breeds hatred and annimosity.
Read about different races and religions to understand that there is not really much difference in beliefs and wants.

wow, what a lot of cool people today, i think those answers were so correct and realistic, I'm very impressed, if we all acted like that can you imagine what kind of world we would live in? just start small with peace with ourselves, just stop judging each other, Ive really been trying to make an effort at that lately, whenever i start opening my own big mouth i stop and pause and think, who the hell am i? xoxo

The reason for unrest through out the world now is due to violence.People are using violence for solving their problems.The solution for world peace is non-violence as propounded by Mahatma Gandhi(M.K.Gandhi).UNO has now accepted the principle of non violence on October 2,2007.If countries like USA ,UK and Muslim countries accept non violence and selttle issues through peaceful methods,world peace will be established.The huge sums spent for arms can be used for reduction of poverty.
