She was a Jew who, along with her family, was put into a concentration camp by the Nazi's in the World War II ear. However, what sets her apart is that she kept a diary before she was captured and during her stay that has since been published in several different languages. Her father was the only one out of her family to survive, and made sure that her diary (which she nicknamed "Kitty") was published so her story could be told.

Anne Frank was famous because she wrote in her diary about what she felt and what happened and how it was to live during the second world war. If her father Otto hadn't survived, I don't think that the diary would have been published.
Maybe because she lived at the time when the Germans didn't want Jews any good and she was a Jew. It must have been pretty scary, knowing that someone will punish you for your religion. Just about the thought to die can scare someone half to death.

She was at an age when she and her family were hiding from the Nazis that most kids are just starting to learn about WWII. She kept a very poignant diary of her experience. It was a combination of of a young girl's diary coupled with the fact that it was written under circumstances that most young people will never know firsthand. It's a first person account of not only growing up, but growing up as someone unfairly persecuted. It's a history of the horrors of Nazi Germany. And once she was captured, her life was cut short. It's an extraordinary account of an amazing time in history written by a young girl as it happened. And any teacher who requires you to come up with four reasons why she is famous shouldn't be teaching in the first place. Just read the book and enrich your life.

Because she could write. You, on the other hand, can't even put a verb in your question.
Anne Frank could write with a quiet and observant eye, in the midst of a nightmare. Her family was hidden from view...
"Described as the work of a mature and insightful mind, it provides an intimate examination of daily life under Nazi occupation and in hiding; through her writing, Frank has become one of the most renowned and discussed of Holocaust victims."
The above is from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Frank . You should check it out. She died in... "In March 1945, a typhus epidemic spread through the camp killing an estimated 17,000 prisoners. Witnesses later testified that Margot fell from her bunk in her weakened state and was killed by the shock, and that a few days later Anne was dead too, at the age of 15."

Gee I guess it couldn't be because she kept a written documentary on what it was like to be a young Jewish girl during WWII, that told of her family's struggles to survive, or her death in a Nazi concentration camp.
