My View:
God is as good as our parents. If we don’t ask him, who else we are going ask.
Many have the guilty feeling that god might mistake them if they keep asking him materialistic things. May pray, God you give me what is best for me. However in the worst situations we can’t stop ourselves. We go and ask him.
According to me, if you treat god like your father or mother, you will demand everything from him. You will not hesitate to ask.
May philosophies say, that it is your ego which stops you asking. If you really trust him, if you love him like your parents, you will go and fight with him, demand him what you want.
Trust him fully. Even if you have little bit doubt in your mind you won’t give. So from today friends go and ask him loudly what you want. Trust me he would give you.

Don’t forget to star if you like this question ... Hey this is only a reminder. I am not demanding. Don't star ... if you don't like it

OK HERE WE GO, SOME OF US DON'T ASK ANYTHING, but only thank him.
Do you do that with your parents.
You ask him, he will give you what you want, but for that he expects you to a good human. God doens't need your thanks, instead he wants the same in actions by being good.

Hi Gentleman, you mentioned in another question about making a difference, well after I read this I certainly feel I need to make a change in myself. You are right,my parents also always tell me to ask whatever I want from god and to never become disheartened and lose hope from him, but I have stopped asking him for anything except to forgive me of my sins. I feel guilty at times for things and I feel like he won't listen to someone who is not practicing his/her religion the way he wants us to,but I will change this now. Today is 27th Ramadan a very auspicious night for muslims, and I think I will be up the whole night asking from him now from my heart, I read your question at the right time, thanks alot....if God listens to my duas you are going to get the reward for that too, very clever of you...lol.

I wish I could give multiple stars to this tremendously superb question.

I believe that God is more than parents for the believers in the faith that God is omnipotent and omniscient... therefore asking anything or everything makes no sense... it would not only be childishness to ask, but also a shade lesser faith in God to end up asking anything or everything or many things in particular. Similarly, thanking God too makes no sense as though we have received any favor... can God favor anyone in particular? I believe that matured faith in God can only result in praying and thanking God in general and all the while without exception, rather than as a precursor or result of any event or situation whatsoever. Even then, the general prayer and thanks can only be for self satisfaction irrespective of any cause or objective. Well that is the way I think and try to be. Whenever I do even contemplate of praying or thanking in particular, I realize sooner or later that it is an immature reaction to a given circumstance that prompts me for that.

Actually, I never ask God anything AFTER my prayers. But I do ask Him all sorts of things DURING them! "Whatsoever things you ask WHEN YOU PRAY, believe you receive them, and you shall have them." Mark 11:24 The key to this verse is the phrase WHEN YOU PRAY. When we are sincerely in prayer, our desires tend to change under the influence of the Holy Spirit, to what God wants for us, so we have the confidence that He will provide what we ask.

"According to me" are the keywords here... Not everyone believes in a personified entity outside of themselves whom they need to beg or demand... This is analogous to being a spiritual brat... Where is the spiritual gratitude??? Perhaps having such notions is why the world is in the state it is... I have more stuff, so God favors me; therefore, I can degrade you... Most troubling...

After my prayers, what I ask God? What to ask to someone who knows my inside and out side?

I just remain still and let him make His own choice.... what to give and what not to give me....

When whole universe is part of God What to ask and what not to ask Him?

When God Has given to us everything before we asked anything what to ask Him?

When He has created us all in his own image and Has breathed his own universal consciousness into us.. then what more do we ever need?

I have given myself to Him and in return He has given Himself to me.... I cant makeout who is who or else we both are not?

or else there are no either of us?

or else it is only Him and I am not? or is it the other way round? I dont Know.... sorry....

Let it be as it is..... it is okay either way I dont mind....as it is...

its childish to ask any thing from an entity that doesnt exist. do you pray to air no but it gives you vital oxygen .you do not pray to earth that gives you nourishment.you do not pray to your soldiers for keeping you safe. .you do not pray to the doctors who treat you and nurse you back to health . you do not pray to teachers who give you valuable knowledge.you do not pray to your parents who take care of your small needs.but infact you are unfair iin giving credit of their efforts to god .god runs away with all the credits where as its all people around you who are helping you at eachand every step of your life.that is one of the reasons i dont belive in god i preffer to belive in people around me and taking care of them and thanking them for their benovelance is my way of praying . to hell with god .
