Consistency is the common link between the useful and the true. Usefulness as well as truth must be predictable.

To a pragmatist truth is only relevant to useful information.

It would be useful to know which local gas station had the lowest prices.

The usefulness of this information is completely destroyed if were untrue.

Now it's true that Britney Spears shaved her head. But a pragmatist wouldn't care. If the information is useless to begin with, then the truth is irrelevant.
