... does anybody else read a lot else into this poem than what's on the surface and does anybody else love Kipling even if he is put down as an "Imperialist"?
Don't poems like "Tommy","Danny Deever" and even "Gunga Din" show a true humanity and well written too?
And of course "If" will always be worth reading to children (won't it?!).

In 1948, Palestinian Arabs and four Arab members of the UN went to war - not only against Israel, but against the UN decision for a two-state solution in Palestine.
Arabs of Palestine could have had their coutry 59 year if only accepted the UN decision and avoyed all the killings and terror, so what they want now from the Jews?

2 of my friends have invited me to their acting schools and another friends said that I would most likely become a comedian and a couple days ago my dad said that they were right and he totally agreed. I'm reading the Scarlet Letter and don't understand one of the quotes in chapter one. It says "The founders of the new colony...have invariably recognized it among their earliest practical necessities to allot a portion of the virgin soil as a cemetery, and another portion as the site of a prison."
Could someone tell me what this quote means and what the point of it is?
