...what else could we read and write about? I'm including medical fiction, since there's always blood and violence involved.

Well, there's still a lot of books of historical fiction, which don't necessarily have to contain violence as their conflict. And books about relationships don't necessarily have to involve love or violence, like Beaches. But there wouldn't be a whole lot of interesting stuff left, particularly with love and violence left out. They span all types of literature, while SF is just one genre.

I'm not sure what people would write about. Love is a necessity in life and I'm not talking about just sexual love between two people. Everything in life that we do is because we love to do it...and we feel pleasure from it. Violence can be an after-effect of love as well.

Well, the mystery genre is still left. Although, it'd have to be a pretty bland mystery if no one committed a crime. Kinda like Encyclopedia Brown when he discovers that there really was no culprit, but it was really the bunny that stole the cake. What inspired this question, I wonder?

You could write abut a guy that goes to work everyday from 9-5 and watches football on the weekends.

IDK who would read it, since most of us live it, and can guess the ending.

depression, soliloquies. you can't have a romance without love, and you can't have a lot of hate without violence. Thus the only real option left is a bunch of depressed people musing amongst themselves
