Hi,

I am doing an assignment and I want to hear people's opinions of how have public policies affected your life? It could be about anything. Thanks.

I have to make a painting for art class demonstrating either the art deco style or art nouveau. It has to be a dance poster so i was thinking about a burlesque dancing theme.but im not sure if burlesque dancing was more towards the art deco period or art nouveau period.

English is not the first language for some people asking questions. Everyone needs to be courteous when responding to their questions.

I have been trying to figure out the ideas of Cause and the effect of mental powers of the human being on the material world. Some might call this the power of prayer. I ponder that it is the power somehow within the human mind. Does anyone know enough about any of this to be able to explain it to me in plain English? Especially the teaching of Aristotle. Thanks.

I love History but don't want to really teach it, I would also love to find some sort of group that discusses World War 2 History So I can listen and learn and argue with others who find that whole period of World History as fascinating. (Terrible run-on sentence I know!) I would like a website or a chat room or something. I also live in Sacramento, CA and would be willing to travel an hour or so to meet people interested in this. And please no smart-a** answers please. I have been to college, and it just doesn't cut it.

I have read Albert Speers memoirs which were fascintanting. I don't think he was an evil man, he just got swept up in all of the power and being able to have a wide-open checkbook to create whatever kind of buildings he pretty much wanted to! At least he was the only one to admit some wrong during at the Nuremberg trials.

i do remember reading at some point of the novel where nick says that gatsby represented everything for which he has an unaffected scorn. What are the multiple things that Gatsby represented that made Nick hate so much (I'm sure there are many...use text support if you can so I can go back into the story and read that part in order to gain a much better understanding). Thanks! 10 pts best answer!

I'm looking for art schools on the East coast (in or around Pennsylvania) that offer fashion design! I've looked at the art institute and the international academy of design and technology but I am not interested in either of those. Any other ideas? And hopefully a school that provides dorm rooms or some sort of living arrangements on/around campus.

ELIZABETH??

Every empire finally has its day when it crumbles. It might take 1000 years, like the Roman Empire, or 400 like the British Empire, but eventually the empires fall. USA is now at the dawn of its imperial age. Recent Middle Eastern events with US involvement exhibit the broadening of US power, just as when the British spread their power through economic and military means during the Victorian Age (19th century). It took several imperial upstart powers like Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan to cripple the British Empire in WW2. What would it take to end the US empire oneday?

Its a broad question, which can have many answers from various aspects. I am refering to the numerous ways in which the USA keeps its power in the world today. What specific economic, cultural, political and military methods does it use? I suspect its similar to the ways in which previous empires in history maintained their power, such as the Romans. What do you think?
