i do remember reading at some point of the novel where nick says that gatsby represented everything for which he has an unaffected scorn. What are the multiple things that Gatsby represented that made Nick hate so much (I'm sure there are many...use text support if you can so I can go back into the story and read that part in order to gain a much better understanding). Hypocracy - however hate is a strong word - Nick doesnt hate Gatsby - Nick is the only one other than the man with owl eyes from the library who shows up at Gatsby's funeral. Scorn means more like pity ... I dont think Nick is capable of hate - not even for his cousin Daisy. He is too much of an idealist. Pax - C.
