I asked this because I had a very interesting discussion with a diverse crowd of mothers who objected to "The Witches".
These were all professionals, one was French, one was Jewish, one was African American, one was Pakistani and they raised some really good questions. They weren't offended but they brought up the issue of profiling.

is it ok to eat animals who have been raised in horrid, extremely overpopulated and confined conditions, pumped full of growth hormones and antibiotics, fed genetically engineered diets, and live short, miserable lives? i’m a meat eater, but the animals i eat otherwise lived rich and full lives, as best a life as they could ask considering i’ve named them “dinner.” but the meat you buy at the grocery store isn’t from happy and healthy animals. does that bother you? you do know that those animals aren’t really that good for you? why buy the meat? it’s contaminated, as far as i’m concerned. just google “factory farm”, disturbing.

I did have a past life in ancient Egypt as a temple worker/one half of a royal twin set. I'm wondering if that person probably worked out and had a good figure.

I am doing a presentation in my Tolken and Philosophy class about the comparison between Odysseus (The Odyssey) and Frodo (Lord of the Ring). The comparisons can be about their characteristics, their journey, their struggles, ETC. What should I be looking for so I can better my presentation? Do you have any suggestions and ideas for the presentation? Also, any quotes from either book(s) would be of great help.

What would you want to go back and see?

I'd like to see Atlantis, if it truly existed, or see what happened to the giant statue of Athena that vanished if Atlantis did not exist.

And is it just on your mother or father's side or both?

Personally, I don't go back farther than my grandparents right now. I'd like to know it as far back as I could go, though. Relatives on my Mom's side know more.

Do you think there are enough fantasy adventure books out there with strong female protagonists? I don't really think so. Most of the time the females are airheaded, weak, vague or too sexually oriented. What's your take?

It seems the Robespierre started out OK, a lawyer with what seemed high moral values. Could he be likened to say James Madison (not a lawyer I know) in the beginning? What changed him?

Why do you think that the French Revolution turned on itself, whereas the American Revolution did not?

Were the Founding Fathers that virtuous or were other factors at play?

PS--I'm 44 and this is not my homework.:-) My son and I just watched a special on the History channel on the French Revolution and we found ourselves really interested in comparing the 2 events as one rather inspired the other and they happened in roughly the same time period.

Thanks for your answers!
