Are the parents/grandparents not teaching anything at home?

I can't tell weather my toilet is leaking from the shut off valve/ water supply line or the fill valve (entering the tank). Is there a good way to tell? Its such a slow leak I can't really seems to tell by looking at it.

One of my co-workers received a write up she doesn't agree with and she refused to sign it. HR told her she is required to sign it and if she doesn't she would be immediately terminated. In all my years of working I have NEVER heard such a thing. Please, if possible provide a website stating the fact if at all possible . I live in Illinois

It appears from my observation that those who answer the Wordplay questions from writers such as Sunshine and even the Pun question writers (too many names to quote) in a negative or cynical way do not understand the concept of Wordplay challenges. Do you (those just described) not have a playful and imaginative mind? If you do not then don't anwer those questions. Wordplay questions are just as valid as any "I want to know" questions. I anticipate a negative response to this question by several of you. I am sure the regular Wordplayers themselves will have some thoughtful and positive answers to this question. Thanks in advance to all who can contribute positively to my question. I will be giving BA to the person who can give a positive, intelligent and encouraging response.

I am so depressed. I need to find a job, am 58 and limited skills. All I've done pretty much is clean. I was a h/w for almost 30 years and husband left me some weeks ago. I have a car, phone, but, I cannot get myself out of the house...like I'm scared. I am a good worker, don't miss work, and do good work. I cannot impose any longer on my sons generosity. I hate to ask them for $10 to pay a bill. I need some words to help me. I've just been in like shock since he left and took all the $ and left me the bills. Help.

Our friend has 2 children: boy and girl. He spends tons of time and energy on the boy, while often leaving the girl out. She is very shy and withdrawn, also behaves far younger (in our opinion) than do most girls her age. We have caught her 5 times now pinching or kicking both her animals and ours. We tell her father, he seems frustrated, but does nothing. He generally does nothing to correct either of his children when they do something wrong. He will yell when at his boiling point, but otherwise, will let them go wild until very angry.
We are around them frequently and we have a hard time not saying anything. The children are our godchildren and we have always been told to 'help him out' with their discipline....but we couldn't discipline them as much as we'd like for fear of ticking him off.
The girl is my main concern, as her behavior, verbal and listening communications are terrible. She is a good child, but I fear for her future. Any NICE suggestions as to how to tell her dad

My grandmother's generation was taught at a very young age to fear God. And she has ever since. She practices blind faith and would be appalled at doing it any other way.

I was not scared nearly as much as she was. Although the idea of hell was taught, and that kept me "believing" until around the age of 16, that was about all the fear I learned.

It is evident to me that the churches' (namely Catholic) different styles of instilling fear throughout the years has resulted in less participation. So, it looks like fear = belief.

This doesn't seem healthy to me at all. Shouldn't belief be based on actual belief, and not on "if I make myself believe, I won't be punished" ?

This thought is one of many reasons why I'm in a period of transition from the Catholic church to learning and taking the best from many religions.

Omg, I am so scared. I am only 13 and I believe in ghosts. I just turned 13. Anyways at night I always here some type of beeping and I look to see whats beeping and there is nothing beeping. I usually hear small knocks on my door from like a child but nobody be there. Footsteps are heard at night walking through the hall. Sometimes when I face my dolls to the wall and when I turn around they facing me again. I can swore my baby alive winked today. I BELIEVE IN GHOSTS!! My TV mutes by itself. Some of my stuff falls by itself. Wind comes from my window even when its closed. My friend thinks her Nintendo Ds was pulled out of her pockets by somebody. My stuff disappears and I usually hear noises. Water is heard dripping at night in the kitchen and I feel like I am being watched every second. I was told somebody died in my house. Do I have a ghost?!What should I do?!13 yr old panic! My life...is.....at......danger!

this was a guy that was a friend for 2 years. He came by to say whats up. when i got in the car he locked the door and speed off. I told him no and he said, "i sound sexy saying no" he graped my arm a little forceful, but imediately i froze and got scared to fight back.....i cried non stop.... when I went to the hospital that same night, the doctor said he used a condom...is it my fault.
