It is almost impossible, because the disability part means that you can NOT work. Perhaps some off the record type employment (usually parttime and temporary), e-bay, that sort of thing.

So you get SSDI or SSI? If just SSI you should be on Medicaid and that should cover your medications, you may have to switch pharmacies or paticular brands. There is no legal way to supplement your income without losing benefits.

If it is SSDI, you are eligible for Medicare after 2 years. Also, you can make up to 900 dollars a month without losing your benefits. Talk to a worker for more details.

The difference is that SSI is a welfare based program and SSDI is an entitlement that people pay into.

If by SS Disability / Medicare you mean SSDI than yes, absolutely you can work part-time as long as you aren't making oodles of money doing it. Each year they announce how much you can make in the following calendar year. I am not on SSDI so I haven't paid attention to the maximum amount, but it is about $980 a month. Ticket to Work is a job placement system. They only get paid when you have been in a full-time job for 6 months, so if you are only looking for part-time work you aren't really Ticket to Work material. Trial Work makes more sense for you. You can work for 9 months and it does not affect you SSDI. It also does not affect it if you make less than $700 in a month. So you can work part-time without worry and if during a busy month you should happen to go over $700 it would just count as one of your 9 work months.

you are allowed to do limited amount of work to add to it but anything above the limit and they will deduct it from your disability..after 2 years of disability you will get medicare and that will cover your meds
in the mean time apply for medicade from the state, disability is usually not much of an income and you most likely qualify for state assisstance
