The cop got out of his car and the kid who was stopped for speeding rolled down his window." I've been waiting for you all day " the cop said. The kid replied. "yeah well I got here as fast as I could".

Jesus was born - that much we know. However, the celebration of Christmas on Dec 25th is really a Mithraen (pagan) festival. But, do we know the real date, and if so, how reliable is the evidence supporting it?

Initially I heard he was born in 6BC which recently changed to 7BC (due to a numerical error in earlier calculations). OK, fine. But what about date? I've heard a lot of support for a date in June, but also for dates in February and Sept.

What is thet evidence supporting any of these claims? Is there anything solid (how about placing it accurately within a certain month)? How authoratative are the sources who quote these other dates?

I am an atheist already so don't really need to hear "he didn't exist" - I personally think he did (based on other hisorical evidence falling outside the bible; vis Josephus).

Or society is, anyway.

I remember a few months back, someone posted up a link to some 60s ads which showed women being the stereotypical housewife, obedient to their husbands and family, and the general outrage many Yahoo users expressed.

Now, I've found a link to some similar 60s ads, but the message is ... slightly different.

http://images.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://www.stickergiant.com/Merchant2/imgs/125/y8139_125.gif&imgrefurl=http://www.stickergiant.com/page/sg/PROD/magfunmen/y7812&h=100&w=125&sz=5&hl=en&start=2&um=1&tbnid=QNeEtXecEdOjLM:&tbnh=72&tbnw=90&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmen%2Bare%2Blike%2Btoilets%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG

And let me just say - I'm not a feminist. But I couldn't help noticing the parodies these ads make of the originals.

Your thoughts?

Diaspora Jews-- is Aliyah something you seriously consider, or is it not right for you? Do you find that you 'fit in' more in Israel, or in your home country? Would you ever spend an extended period of time in Israel?

Discuss.

I plan to go into Horse Management as a career when I'm older. The only problem is I have no clue on how to get started. I know obviously I'm going to have to take some sort of class on horses, and breeds, and riding etc. But I was wondering if I would need some sort of special liscence. Because what I want to do is own a stable and do riding lessons with them, maybe some shows and breeding. Does anyone know what I need to be able to do something like that? And also how much money it would cost to start it up? Please and thank you, this is something I really want to do so any information would be very helpful.

My tree was up for about five minutes before the cat sauntered over, sat down and eyed it, looked at me as if to say "you cant be serious? you think its going to stay here?" Then stood up on his hind legs and pushed it over, then walked away with a smug look on his face - a job well done I assume.

He has tried it on a few more times but I have caught him before he can push it over again.

NOW a cat peeing on the presents under the tree? Thats a tad over the top - not mine - someone else's I know.

One year my son's dog opened ALL the presents after we went to bed looking for chocolate - he ate all of it that he found, and then took down the stockings and raided those too.

You gotta love the critters who share our lives -

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

I am legally seperated from my husband, but we still live in teh same home he wants a friendship with all the benefits of a marriage. I am not allowing this to happen. I work at a fancy hotel and there is a fellow employee who has struck intrest in me he is not my type at all and I know all he wants is a sexual relationship he seems like that type. He is all wrong for me he drinks, smokes, hairy chest just the complete opposite of my type, but I find him so intresting I can't help to smile when ever he is around we joke and kid all the time the thing is he still in a bad marriage I'm seperated but he still living in the home is it wrong for me to persue this? Or is it just rebond and if so I don't want either one of us getting hurt.

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others or their choice not to practice any religious/secular traditions.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contribution to society has made America great. Not necessarily to imply America is greater than other countries nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere.

Also, this wish is made without regard to race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, etc.

well I was going out with this guy for a couple of weeks but then I asked him if he liked me-he said he really likes me just can't commit right now because he's too stressed with uni & needs to finish the semester coming up before making commitments & he's sorry its his fault. We used to spend all our time together in the period of a few weeks

When I was talking to him he asked what I was up to n I said nothing and he said what would you rather be doing?...
i replied something bout going out but can't cos have to work th next day. I asked him what would he rather be doing, he said
'driving back to my mansion to my gorgeous naked girlfriend.' What do you think he expected me to say or feel?

He knows I like him and we spent every minute with eachother before he asked me out, we knew eachother 1 1/2 yrs before but not really well. He hasn't had a relationship longer than 2 months-he said he got bored & slept with 1 girl-he's 22

I am split on this. I think it would be good because if you bring a non-member, they can hear many testimonies. At the same time it's bad because, unless described what is happening and that it doesn't happen every week, they might think that is what happens all the time.

When I first started coming, it was on fast and testimony, and I was like........ugh, why do they all just keep talking? No one had explained to me prior what would be happening.
