Here in Australia we often hear of how badly US workers are treated, with wages forced down to a minimum and medical insurance tied to their job.
As education and training offer ways for workers to raise their social status and their ability to advocate for themselves, and given that adult education is so expensive, I wondered if US unions provide free or low-cost education?
There must be many workers whose literacy is very low, and who do not know about the dangers of their jobs or how to protect themselves.
