I would personally like to ask that you screw religion with an iron stick. All of it has some kind of negative aspect to it- some more so than others, and there is not one that is truly positive. You only have one life to spend, and I don't think that you should spend it worrying about nothing.
You may want to read up on philosophy rather than religious dogma. I also suggest looking at the concept of a "Bright."
Don't waste the one life that you have. Please. Do what makes you happy and nothing else. After all, why would any religion want you to be unhappy? It doesn't really make sense...

if you were raised christian. then it's OK. but remember G-d is patient and forgiving. He knows what human nature is, He created it. he put us here to rise above it.
.the point is to learn from that mistakes and try harder to become better. if you mess up again, repent, and try harder. G-od can see into your heart. He want to look in there and see someone who's trying. if you're trying he won't throw you to the wolves for making a mistake and he is glad for any excuse to take you back when you have strayed from Him.
i think you need a new pastor, not a new religion.
and about what the previous poster said, thast not one is completely positive, that's right. wyou will not find a single religion that says you can do whatever you want, whenever you want and however you want and still get into heaven and have everything rosey, but that would be an awfully shallow life.struggles to better your self and goals beased on a greater purpose make us who we are.You must understand that there are things beyond the self, understanding and meaning beyond our comprehension.if we are slaves to our desires we are never truley free.

The bottom line seems to be the fear of making God mad.
I believe that God doesn't get mad at people these days. He is way above that. I think he keeps forgiving you until you get it right. If not in your present lifetime then your next one. As for going to hell, you make your own hell, God doesn't.

Please calm down! You don't NEED a religion. Maybe you should just spend some time living your best life and giving some casual thought to everyday spirituality. Get past the fear. With all that panic, you cannot find any god or correct path to walk. Make you choices out of love, compassion and reason.

I really don't think anyone here can or should tell you what religion you should go with. My best advice is to research anything and everything you can get your hands on and find your truth on your own. Most people here will want you to be what religion they themselves are or are not... I can tell you being an Orthodox Christian is great, I am happy and feel it is the truth, but it may not be what you want... I hope you find happiness, and fulfillment from your own journey. Also, if you ever want to talk you can email me or IM me on messenger... I know what it is like to be searching, I wont force any specific religion on to you, but you do kind of sound like you might need to talk....

Dear friend, if u think deeply, all relagions say almost the same thing in general : Be good human being ,do not harm yourself & others....the rest & disputes r what we have caused to have a reason to fight over nothing!
Just worship the unique God & be good..just look at what is created by god, enjoy nature & universe & your life as a gift & help others as much as u can.

it's not religion you are looking for but a relationship with a holy God! Jesus is who you are searching for...yes, He is holy and He expects us to be obedient, BUT He is also a very loving Father who wants the best for you! Religion is all about fear and bondage; having a relationship with God is wonderful! Read your bible, but read it in a way in which you're asking God to reveal Himself to you-not what anyone else tells you about God but the way He wants to show Himself to you! It's not the same for everyone. He never changes, but He knows what you will accept and how He can touch your life in a way that is REAL! He will truly amaze you!

You don't need religion-you need God. Deedlesme has a great answer. I would just like to chime in, too.
I used to feel the way you do-that if I do one thing wrong, I would go to Hell. It's true that if you don't have Jesus, you don't have the Father, who are both in heaven. God is mad at sin, and he loves you at the same time. God loves you so much that he made a way that you wouldn't have to die for it eternally. He sent his only begotten son Jesus to die on a cross 2,000 years ago to pay for the price of our sins. Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).
Here's the deal-You only have to repent of your sins and put your trust in Jesus once in your life. Then all of your sins are forgiven, past and future. If you repent of your sins and put your trust in Jesus, you'll become a Christian. God chooses people who he knew would believe in Him, so if your repentance is genuine and your trust in Jesus is true, he'll save you.
Please go through the book of John if you have a Bible, and you should understand Jesus and his purpose for you. With God, anything is possible, so don't worry about your future too much. If you put your trust in Jesus, then simply put your worries to God and let God handle them. He'll save you if you let Him, so please consider this. If you don't trust me, again, simply read the Bible for truth. Ask that God would reveal himself to you in his Word. If you need a suggestion of which version to read, I would suggest NIV, ESV and NASB.
Please contact me if you have any questions and have a great Christmas!

I hear your anxiety Fact is, no person can trell you what is right for you. Be dubious of the person who tells you that his religion is the right one. Maybe for him, but that does not mean you. Visit different houses of worship attend services and see which makes you most comfortable. Sunday morning they have services on tv and watch different ones too Good Luck
