From my personal experience, I never truly understood my need of God until I went through a horrible period of my life. Science, philosophy and theology meant absolutely nothing to me during that time. His presence was what pulled me through. Jesus was there suffering with me. Call my faith prejudiced because a part of it is based on evidence of what I experienced, but He was there when I was broken.

As I observe people now, I find it ironic how most objections to God's existence from the problem of suffering come from people who are quite comfortable with life, while those who do experience such harm seem to become stronger believers rather than stronger agnostics.

If you are on your dying bed, terrified of being alone, the most important thing to you is not an explanation but another's presence. Someone to sit with you. God was that someone. For that reason, I love him.

Paris Hilton spent the longest time in jail, a whole 22 days. Nicole Richie for less than a week, and Lyndsay Lohan not even two hours... FOR DUI's!!!

If they were regular citizens, they would have done at least a month in jail, gotten their license's taken away, been on probation, and probably have to go to AA meetings. How is this right?

It is an HP Pavilion a1355c. My brother got a virus on my computer about 2 weeks ago, and it erased my hard drive. when I try and install ANY version of Windows (Windows XP Pro and Windows Vista Ultimate), it installs just fine, but when the computer starts after installation, it just keeps restarting. I installed Kubuntu Linux and I don't get the infinite reboots. Please help! I need to fix this computer ASAP! and also, I need to know if this is a hardware or a software failure. Thanks!

The virus wiped my hard drive.. and I have an XP Pro disc and a Vista Ultimate disc... :( and the Windows installation won't work at all...only Linux works.

The car had been misfiring for close to a month and today it stopped doing it completely. I figured it might be the spark plugs. The wiring was replaced last year, but I heard that can go bad quick anyway. The car is running great now. What might have happened? Is fuel injector clearner an answer?

A month into my relationship, my boyfriend stated that he never wants to fall in love again because of all the pain it has caused him before. (He has been burned, haven't we all?) But I didn't run, because at the time I wasn't looking for anything that serious anyway and I figured he would warm up to me. But now I'm finding it harder and harder to get him to open up at all, about anything. Instead of telling me things, he closes off and doesn't call for a few days. I am starting to care about him, but everytime he pushes me away I become so discouraged. I just want to change his perspective of women and reassure him that I won't be the one to hurt him, but I don't know how to do that without scaring him away even faster. Is he a lost cause? What can I do?

I know Windows has got like a million virus threats and Mac has like, none, but I still don't think it's worth it. I mean they're about twice as expensive as Windows, they don't work with many softwares, including games, and if you buy a game for Mac, it's about twice as expensive as the same game for windows, and they don't have them in every store. My mom bought a Mac laptop once for about 3000 dollars, I believe; this was a long time ago.. And basically everything sucked. The screen was so thin, just by moving it or touching it it looked like it was gonna break. And after some time, it seemed that the keyboard itself was destroying the screen, cause it had little scratches all over it, and we had to put a piece of cloth there. The mouse had only one button. And after a while it go really slow.
So all of you Mac lovers out there, convince me to buy a Mac instead of a Vista. I'm open-minded; I think the new Macs look cool except for the price and the software problems I mentioned.
