consider acts like those occuring in china, the "killing rooms" and violent treatment of those who voice their political opinions. Are we more cruel now than we were say, at the time of the spanish inquisition and before? is war getting bloodier or less bloody? is the treatment of prisoners, women, refugees etc improving around the world, or worsening?

Last night, I asked why people still die if praying for sick people is so effective.

I also asked why I should expect God to alter his grand plan for me when he doesn't for the thousands of starving people around the world. I got a few "countries why deny god brought calamity down on themselves" answers (which I think is a bunch of crap) and a few "You should do it for the comfort of the sick person" answers (which I agree with) in among the "You need Jesus" and "God doesn't exist" standards.

But lets say God does exist and has a big grand plan. Should you ever ask for things to be other than He wants? I mean, presumably, if it is happening, it is a part of the plan, so isn't asking for something that is happening to have a specific outcome asking for something that may not be in accordance with the plan?

In Wicca, they place great importance on not meddling with the free will of others - love spells, for instance, are generally considered a very bad idea. (continued)

Before anyone freaks out, the reason I have a 7 week old pup is that I am fostering him for a local shelter. The Mom had 14 pups and they were draining her too much adn she was very fragile. The shelter I volunteer for brought in 9 pups of which are all in foster care.
Back to my question... It has been a long time since I had a pup this young.. I am feeding him Avoderm according to instruction splitting it up into 3 meals, but he seems to consistemtly bee looking for more. Is this normal or should I be feeding him a little bit more?

Okay My situations a little bit different then the rest of everybodies around here. Me and my X have been broken up for about a month and I still live with her. We still love each other and I wanna be with her again. So I thought of the idea of buying her a promise ring for Christmas. My home borders a railroad track out in the country.About 3 years ago,the RR replaced all the ties,left several HUGE piles,hundreds,maybe thousands of them on the other side of the RR track.Since then,I ,and my wife,have had rashes,breathing problems,and I have been diagnosed with cirrhossis(never drank,no hepatitis)and several blood disorders.We have also had a devil of a time with this "black soot"looking stuff,all in the ac filters,ceiling fans,walls.It's been driving us crazy,as we are neat freaks.I finally called an "air quality specialist"who came out,said it wasn't mold,and beyond his scope.His guess was the pile of RR ties.He put me in touch with the EPA,who sounded VERY concerned when they questioned me and are going to send agents out to test the air,soil,and water.O.K.,Background over.My question.

This home is my LIFE,I have blood,sweat,and tears in every board in this house,every flower and fruit tree in the yard.My imagination is going wild.

our kitten is funny.. she wont play with the toys we bought for her but she lov plaing with small pieces of paper (like candy wrappers n reciepts) then when my hubby pours milk into his cereal bowl, she cant wait that she drink the milk thats pouring.. and she loves hiding under the blanket! she crawls under everything! a rug, a blanket, dirty clotthes and she can stay there for hours.. and she loves sleeping inside a plastic bag as long as theres some cloth to make it comfy!

our older cat wont sit on bare floor, he has to sit on a pillow.. i taught him how to sit, lie down and crawl but somehow i cant get him to *stay* haha

pls share yours, it would be fun to hear what other cats do hehe

Why are they inscribed on walls(Babylon,Iraq), in churches, etc.
Why did Alexander the great (a man of respect to say the least,a man who knew what he was talking about)mention coming across them in India?
Why did Marco Polo(another man of high standing-and of education)mention in his notes that the emperor of mandarin,China kept dragons at his palace?

A friend from work has invited me to her home for Christmas. I had only planned on a gift for her, her husband and their pets. Now she's emailed me saying that her son and daughter, her mother, grandmother, her husband's friend, the friend's girlfriend, her cousin and brother will also be coming. I really don't think I should be expected to give gifts to all those people, especially when I don't even know them. But why would she email me to tell me that? Please advise. Thanks.
