Yeah..all the time! Why is it though, every time I do so, my tanks on empty !!??

I've done it many times. Los Angeles, San Diego, Provincetown, Naples (FL).
I have many friends who live in Key West for the winter. I hear it is a great town.
Hey, I urge you to follow your heart! Go for it! There are so many jobs available right now in the Keys. Particularly in the service industry. Restaurants, hotels, shops, and just about everyone is hiring right now. The season is just begining!
DO IT! Live it up! Unless you have a family to deal with, then perhaps I would have given another answer.
