I'm a 20-year-old female, and every so often I'm woken up during my sleep by really intense pains behind my knee, sometimes stretching down to the calf. I remember this happening since I've been young, probably around the age of seven.

I've never had a severe knee injury, though I did used to play soccer. The last two nights I've been woken up from these pains, and the last couple of days I've been more active than usual, although not excessively so.

It was suggested that the cause could be a calcium deficiency or dehydration. Does anyone know what could be causing these pains?

Thanks!

A space vehicle on reentry faces burning away like a meteor due to intense atmospheric friction because of which heat shields come into play. Now if it slowed down using onboard motors and leftover fuel, it could avoid atmospheric friction. Why does not this happen?

I go through cravings. I can't understand why. Recently it was peanut butter cups- I couldn't get enough of them, and If I am not having a craving for them- I really am not even fond of them. Before it was frosted mini wheat cereal with a glass of milk (not on the cereal). I also went through a Hummus phase, Subway Phase (sandwich had to be made the same way every time), and a whopper Jr. w/ Cheese minus the meat. Jimmy Johns Turkey Tom sub with extra vinaigrette dressing.

When I have these cravings and I eat the particular craved food, it is like it is the best thing in the whole world. When the craving goes away, I could care less about it. It is just so weird. My daughter says she goes through it a little bit but not to the extent that I do.

I am vegetarian but I don't think this has anything to do with it because I was like that before becoming one. Is this some type of eating disorder or am I missing nutrients that these foods provide? Any idea?

Hi,

I'm bored with all my music right now and am looking for some new things! They don't have to be new bands, just new to me!

Right now, I love: Regina Spektor, Stars, Air, Lamb, Robots in Disguise, Imogen Heap, The Gossip, David Bowie, The Smiths... The Frames, etc.
So things along those lines. I like quite sombre/emotional music, or nice instrumental music like Craig Armstrong.

Thanks for any help!

I was on vacation in St Thomas USVI with my family when my worst nightmare happened. Our lives were put in danger dur to locals on the island. Guns were pointed, our lives were verbally threatened, we were ambused and the list goes on. All along we had restraining orders in place, police reorts filed and the police continually failed to arrest the guy. I fled the island in fear for my life. The police department was no help. They lied, and sided with the violent man. IMy family was not protected because we were white and they were black, at least that is the only reason I can give to their absolute complete negligence. What can I do to not let the police get away with this? I am willing to take this as far as I can to get justice!

The short definition is that white privilege is the (multi-faceted) advantage of being white. An advantage not earned but given with birth and mostly unnoticed by those with the privilege, but very much noticed by those without it.

If you don't believe it exists now, do you believe it ever did, and if so, when?

If you do believe it exists, be concise and show examples to help aid understanding.

I saw Rudy Giuliani speak at my company yesterday. America doesn't have a choice. Rudy Giuliani must be our nation's next president. The other candidates are running to satisfy their own ego, much like our current president did (and we know how well that's gone). Giuliani is running because he truly wants to see this country succeed and stay safe from the terrorist threats that plague this world. I saw the New York City skyline burning on 9/11 and no U.S. city should repeat that sight. In my opinion no other candidate has the leadership qualities and crime fighting experience he possesses. It's time for strength and stability. It's time for Rudolph Giuliani.

My dog Duke weighs about 90 lbs and yesterday I was sitting in the recliner and he jumps up and sits on my lap. Then he laid in my lap.

I thought it was cute! He doesn't do it too often so I don't mind him laying in my lap.

My boyfriend and I are madly in love. Not the fluttery, first-date kind of love, but the comfortable, natural love that comes with totally enjoying the company of the other. He's a little older than me though, not that it matters, as we've known each other for nearly 4 years now. We have everything in common: values, beliefs, hobbies, fun times. He proposed to me recently and I accepted. We have been through a very rough year and our parents disagree with our relationship, which puts extreme stress on us. We both want to get out and move on together, and are working hard to do this both financially and emotionally. It's hard. I keep asking him if I am worth it, and he always strives to show me that I am. I am 18 and he's nearly 22, and we're both poor...are we too young to get married?
