Depending on what you like.
Hot, humid weather, then May-Sept.
cooler weather, Oct-April.
Though with the global warming, that might not be true anymore.
Heck, here in NC, we had 80's last week.

Early Spring or fall. My husband and I are in the process of moving to St. Augustine. It is such a wonderful town with dozens of things to see and do! The summer is just too brutal to really enjoy anything but the beach. The downtown district, with all of the great shops is a must see, but you'll want to do it when the weather is nicer. You can visit in the winter time, but it is often too cold to swim at the beach this time of year. So if that is also a must do on your list, I recommend spring or fall. Before you dine at any local restaurants or shop in the area, stop by the Visitors Center and pick up their town brochures and booklet. There are dozens of coupons inside for shops and restaurants all over town! Be sure to visit the Whetstone Chocolate store! They have delicious chocolates and frozen chocolate dipped bananas!

I agree with the answer about the Festivial of Lights; it's lovely.

My other favorite times to visit St. Augustine are the period from just after "Spring Break" (just after Easter) until the middle of June. Then again from October until the end of December. You'll likely see some of the best rates on rooms during late September until mid-November.

St. Augustine is somewhat northern Fl. so no guarantees on the winter weather but probably not below 60 during the day, if you want heat you should try late spring or fall.

Summer and Autumn are the best because there's more going on. In the summer you can view the boat races on the water, go to the beach, watch the fireworks and eat out on decks at many of the restaurants. In the fall be sure to check out all the ghost tours and haunted happenings!
