It was about 3 a.m. in Tampa, FL on I-275, speed limit 55 mph. The officer said, "I paced you from when you came onto the interstate at Busch Blvd up until here." 'Here' is Martin Luther King Blvd exit area. Thing is, I came onto the interstate at the Fowler Ave, that's a 1.5 mile difference. (He said he came onto the interstate at Fletcher Ave, 1 mile from Fowler and 2.5 miles from Busch.) After I told him I got on the interstate at Fowler, he said, "Would you like for me to change the ticket?" I said no. As I said, he said he paced me from Busch to MLK, going between 80 & 88 mph. It's 3.6 miles from Busch to MLK. 3.6 miles!!! At 80 mph, it's 2.7 minutes. At 88 mph, it's 2.45 minutes. Does it make any sense for an officer to PACE someone, going 25-33 mph over the speed limit, for 2+ minutes? I've gotten my share of tickets, so I don't go over 14 mph over the limit. Therefore, my max speed was 69...maybe 70. Do I have a case? And I'm not paying the $185 or having points assessed.

i have 7 that are here on work visas or have green cards.
i refuse to hire anyone who is "undocumented".
so i ask...if they are breaking the law by being here illegally why should i break the law and give them a job?
i worked hard to get where i'm at so why should i risk everything i have worked so hard for for someone who could care less about our laws?

Next year marks the 100th. anniversary of the Cubs last World Series Title. How do you maintain your sanity?
You guys are obviously great baseball fans and support the Cubs through everything, but it's gotta be tough to watch this team fail every season. How do you deal with that?

I just got married to a wonderful woman 3 months ago. Her behaviour for the past few months has been a bit odd. For one, she will get mad about small things and hold a grudge forever. She leaves the house instead of helping resolve any issues. It makes things so much worse, and she just doesn't get it. Tonight, she got mad at me for giving her old cell phone to a friend who needed it after she told me it was okay. The phone was two years old and unused. She then left and won't answer her phone. This behaviour tears my heart out because I try so hard for her and she doesn't see it.

We are doing counselling next week, be she hates to be judged or criticized. I'm afraid she just won't listen and will hate every second of it.

I don't have a clue on how to get through to her about this. It's tearing us apart. What do I do in a situation like this?

I am writing a paper about bank runs and was needing some insight on the subject. Specifically, what are the causing factors behind bank runs? What are the short/long term effects of a bank run? Are there any warning signs or preventive measures that can be done to avoid a bank run? Any insight or any suggestions about where to look for these answers would be greatly appreciated.

There is much speculation as to why a couple is more likely to divorce if the wife works fulltime. Conservatives will say it's the additional stress on the family, or forcing an "unnatural" role onto the woman. Liberals will point out that having her own income gives a woman greater freedom to leave a bad marriage. But here's a thought for anyone interested in economics:

Role specialization. Every business partnership benefits greatly when roles are specialized. For instance, instead of two people each sewing a whole suit, one cuts the patterns and one runs the sewing machine. Could it be that marriage itself is less valuable when there is no role specialization? If you do not benefit intrinsically because of your "partnership" - if you are not more efficient together than apart, is there less reason to stay together when the chemistry fades? If you can do it all yourself, are you less motivated to find that marriage itself benefits you?

My husband and I are split up now as he drove down to cali from oregon and took his things with him and unpacked at his moms and has been there for 3days now and has decided not to come home. We have had a lot of stress in our lives for different reasons one is we moved my dad in because he has cancer and needs some help and support and we both love him. Anyhow his mom came to visit for a week and decided to run to a hotel when i hurt her feelings about driving down early, I was nervous about our uninsured vehicle and we needed to talk and she heard us arguing and said she didnt want us to argue about her so she was going to a hotel and finding her own way home and I said that I was sorry, I did not mean it, it was a misunderstanding to please stay but she wouldnt and he decided that he couldnt stand how i treated his mom so he was leaving too and bam he was gone. He called, I said come home, work it out, but he went then called to work it out I said it was too late but it hurts so ..
