Wow....everybody seems to think that America is a really evil country. How sad.

A moral argument can be made about why we get involved in other countries' business. As the world's only superpower, do we have the moral obligation to help relieve suffering if we are able to do it? Some people would say yes.

We went into Bosnia and Somalia-- two places that don't have a lot of resources for us to use-- because we wanted to help oppressed people.

Other places we get involved with because we have strategic interests. The first Gulf War was to protect Kuwait; we were interested in that because Kuwait has a lot of oil and we didn't want it under the control of Saddam Hussein.

You don't have to agree with the US going to war, but I think these are the two general reasons. It doesn't make us evil or greedy or arrogant in any way at all.

No problem...just as soon as those countries control their citizens so they do not fly planes into OUR buildings and kill OUR citizens...then They can show a little respect to their own and do away with the rape and torture rooms...maybe stop killing the citizens en mass...that would be a good start to causing us to lose interest in them.


When we do butt out does that mean no more aid? No more help when disaster strikes them? Or are we only supposed to help them when and how they dictate to us?
